It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of NU Crew alumnus Charles Sharp ('05). Those of us who knew Charles are deeply saddened by the loss. Charles was an extremely talented, creative, and caring man. We will miss him. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time.

Charles Joseph Sharp
Age 26, passed away suddenly at his late residence on January 31, 2009. Charles attended Providence Catholic High School where he participated in wrestling and football. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University (2005). While enrolled, he was a member of the crew and rugby teams and competed in several design competitions. After graduation, he worked to innovatively merge engineering and art, working with numerous artistic media. He is described by friends and family as a passionate individual with boundless creative abilities.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles L. Sharp.
Survived by his grandparents, Joseph and Mary Juricic of Joliet; grandmother, Kathryn (Sharp) Zaborsky of Joliet; parents, Charles and Kathleen Sharp of Shorewood; sister, Sarah (Nicholas) Cudney of Pittsburgh, PA; and brother, Jonathan Sharp of Chicago.
Funeral Services for Charles Joseph Sharp will be Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God, 1741 Essington Rd., Joliet with Rev. Robert Bugh officiating. Graveside interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Providence Catholic High School (New Lenox, IL) or Trinity Christian School (Shorewood, IL).
